Matthews & Fields Greece and Henrietta Locations will begin summer hours this weekend. Our updated hours of operation will be Monday - Friday 7:30-4:30, and Saturday's from 8:00 - 12:00. Our Buffalo yard will remain closed for Saturday hours at this time.

Hold the date, Wednesday June 9, 2010 on your calendars. Matthews & Fields is once again hosting the Katz Road Show. This time we will have the Finished Carpentry Clinic coming to town! This clinic will focus on Durable Exterior Trim, Replacement Windows & Architectural Trim, Hanging a New Door in an Old Jamb, and Conquering Crown Molding. The clinic runs from 7:00 am - 3:00 pm.

The clinic this year will be presented by Gary Katz. Gary is a master trim carpenter, and a contributing editor of over 20 years to The Journal of Light Construction, Fine Homebuilding, Fine Woodworking, and other trade publications. Gary is also the author of numerous books and DVD's on trim carpentry techniques.

Matthews & Fields Lumber, Buffalo branch is now open for business. It is at 3825 Walden Avenue, southeast of the Buffalo International Airport. The yard is open Monday through Friday, 7:30-4:30. Matthews & Fields Lumber is now a stocking Kreg Tools dealer. Famous for their pocket screw technology, for cabinet making and other wood working projects, both interior and exterior. Matthews & Fields is now a stocking dealer for Stabila Tools. These are the ultimate in tools for leveling, and measuring. Their spirit levels carry a lifetime warranty for accuracy, fogging, or leaking, as long as the level frame does not get bent. They offer lasers for all different applications, both interior and exterior. We are stocking spirit levels in several different sizes, jamber sets, indoor ProLiner lasers, and laser distance measurers. All other Stabila products can be ordered very easily and quickly.

Now stocking at the Henrietta and Stonewood Yard:
-Dow Building Solutions Froth-Pak FS Foam Insulation Kits.

This two component quick cure polyurethane foam quickly fills cavities, voids and penetrations (2" or greater) through walls, floors, and plates for pipes, vents and wiring. The foam cures in minutes.
This material carries a flame spread index of 25 or less, qualifying it as an insulation as well as an air sealant. In addition to blocking air infiltration, this product helps seal out moisture, dust, smoke, outside noise and insects.
Bonds to wood, rigid foam, masonry, metal and more. Kit is self contained, no power or air pressure is required. Mixing is done at the disposable nozzles, preventing cross contamination. Tanks have a built in temperature indicator. For best results, the tanks should be at 75º or warmer.


Applications: For use in sealing inside the house, penetrations, sill plates, rim joists, band joists, stud wall cavities, ceilings/attics, crawl spaces and basements, floors above garages, and bathtub framework.

Sizes: We are stocking two (2) sizes, FS-180 (appx. yield 160 board feet), and FS-600 (appx. yield 540 board feet). The FS-180 comes self contained in one (1) box (A-tank, B-tank, hoses-pre-attached, and multiple nozzles for cone and fan spray). The FS-600 comes in three (3) boxes, A-tank, B-tank, and hose box (with multiple nozzles for cone and fan spray).

Required special equipment: Vapor mask with charcoal filter, safety glass or goggles, gloves, tyvek suit (optional)
